Initially a clarinet player, Leandro Suarez lives in Basel since 2002.

It is from 2008 when his artistic activity is directed towards the area of video and audiovisuals.

He has co-created videographics for the chamber opera “El Cimarrón” (H.W. Henze) working together with José Navarro and performing the piece in Switzerland, Argentina, Chile and México.

He is co-director of the Ensamble Bestiario with Matías Laborde.

During 2011 he the stage video projections of “Nature Humaine” premiered at the Stand-Moutier in Switzerland.

Between 2010 and 2015 he has worked on the visuals of several staged operas: “Così fan tutte” (Switzerland – Facundo Agudin), “Giulio Césare in Egitto” (Switzerland – Bruno Ravella), “El guardián de los cuentos”, “Toy Shop”, “L’Ocassione fa il ladro”, “Cuento de Navidad”, “La Princesa árabe”, “Alí Babá y los 40 ladrones” (Spain – Pablo Ramos, Ópera de Cámara de Navarra).

Now he is working in the premiere of “La Traviata” (G. Verdi) at the Festival Stand’été directed by Bruno Ravella (stage) and Facundo Agudin (musical direction). He is also working at the piece “War Requiem” (B. Britten) with Facundo Agudin and the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Argentina that will be premiered at the new concert hall in Buenos Aires in october.
